My First Macros

I’ll be leaving Austin in about a month, and I couldn’t leave without getting a couple bluebonnet pictures. I walked down to Pease Park and I found a couple patches of them. I busted out my extension tubes for the first time and attached them to the 50mm. It was hard to get them in focus, but got some good ones in the end.

  1. Your first macros turned out very well and I love the colors. The focus is a challenge for macros, I’ll admit. I’ll take several photos of the same thing and get only one with the focus I want. Bees are very patient so they’re easy to photograph. Butterflies are very little patience in comparison.

    • Thanks for the tips!! I need to practice more… Exactly like you said, out of all the ones I took, I only got 3 or 4 with the focus I wanted. Glad to know I’m on the right track though haha
